About ROAM Dance School & Creative Arts...

ROAM Dance School and Creative Arts is based in Shrewsbury. We have our own studios inside St Marys church hall on St Mary's Court (opposite the parade shopping centre). Our studios consist of a dance studio which has a sprung floor and full length mirrors. Our studio also features a music room and arts/crafts room.

At ROAM we specialise in street dance/hip hop, but we also teach a wide variety of other dance styles including contemporary, lyrical, commercial, ballet, jazz and heels. We also offer music lessons and art/craft lessons.

At our dance school & creative arts school, we have both recreational classes for children, teens and adults to attend just for fun and we also have competition/performance teams. We have something for everyone, so whether you just want to come along to class for fun and to learn something new or whether you want to train to a higher level and perform at competitions across the region, we have something for you.

Vision Statement:

To instil and develop a love of dance by providing fun and friendly dance classes and to provide elite training as well as inspiring opportunities for those who wish to take their dancing to a higher level.

Meet the teachers:

Emilee-Jean (Ballet Teacher)

"Hi my name is Emilee-Jean and I've been dancing singing the age of 4 years in all styles of dance.

I have choreographed and performed in musicals, commercial and contemporary London company's, touring with street crews and taught for many schools, colleges and dance studios.

Since then I have had a little girl and found a passion for teaching dance, fitness and yoga, building my knowledge to help and shape every dancer I meet.

I love to watch musicals, read books, travel, spend quality time with my family and dance around my kitchen with my two year old!

I love teaching for ROAM. They are all like my little dance family."

Emma (Junior Lyrical Competition Team Teacher)

"Hi my. name is Emma and I've been dancing since I was 3. With my dancing I perform, compete, teach and take part in examinations.

I currently dance 7 times a week all around Shropshire and Therefore in a range of different styles, but my favourite is definitely lyrical.

In the holidays, I love to go to different dance events and workshops across the country to train and meet new people.

As well as physically dancing, I also love learning about the fitness and science of dance. Alongside this I also study statistics and psychology. I love relating what I have learnt in psychology to show how beneficial things like dance are physically and mentally to everybody.

As well as taking classes, performing and attending competitions, I also love teaching dance and choreographing new pieces."

What our customers are saying

All 3 of my daughters danced at Roam and although they have all grown individual aspects, confidence, discipline and self esteem, collectively they have all improved in ability. Not only does Roam provide them to learn new dance skills, it has helped them grow socially too, making friends from outside their local area. Laura is supportive, not only to their growth within dance but also personally too.
